MONTHLY SOCIALS
The First Tuesday of every month – from 6.30pm
Everyone and anyone is welcome to come along! We’re unsurprisingly mainly Raleigh alumni and very occasionally conversation does slip into previous ‘this one time on expedition’ mode but its rare! We are, more simply, a social network of like minded people who have had the luck of being part of something quite unique and special. However it is just a Raleigh alumni social – we are always delighted to have new faces come along, especially anyone looking to, or preparing to, go on a Raleigh expedition. Between us we have a wealth of fund raising and kit ideas and tips for those who are somewhat bewildered by the enormity of it all. And we’ll endeavour to smooth out any pre-expedition nerves and re-invigorate the enthusiasm for the expedition! More widely, we try to continue the spirit of Raleigh in London and partake in the ‘fourth challenge’ type activities – namely volunteering and going on the occasional tramp across the countryside.
Please either keep track of socials here or look out for us on Facebook.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Raleigh International volunteers are once again working with Northmoor Trust, in south Oxfordshire .
This time the project is working on the farm, and we are putting in a water supply to a cattle trough,
working near Neptune wood, and just below Whittenham clumps, an area of
considerable archaeological interest.
The Northmoor Trust is based in South Oxfordshire and manages an estate of 300 hectares, including
Little Wittenham Nature Reserve and Wittenham Clumps, a conversation farm, a woodland dedicated
to forestry research and Project Timescape, the Trust’s visitor centre. Look at Northmoortrust.co.uk:
http://www.northmoortrust.co.uk/

The site is at Hill Farm, Little Whittenham, Nr Didcot OX14 4QZ. This is just off the A 4130, Didcot
Wallingford rd, and from the north 3 miles from the main A415 Abingdon Rd. Nearest Train is Didcot
Parkway, and can arrange station runs, with a bit of notice.
FRIDAY NIGHT
The plan to meet in the Barley Mow pub on Fri eve ,on the River Thames just off the A 415 at Clifton
Hampden, but as we are camping then those that arrive early might want to go to the site and pitch
tents etc.

Working at the farm on Sat, and Sun , and finish early on Sunday afternoon. Breakfast, lunch, and
dinner Sat eve will be supplied, and there are showers etc at the site at Hill Farm.
